B&B Precision Tool Company was incorporated in Ashtabula, Ohio on October 4,
1973, by the majority stockholder. Robert Kaydo. Harry Petro later joined the
company, and today is also a stockholder. B&B Precision Tool Company occupies
a 15,000 sq. ft. of a building located at 4636 Valleyview Blvd, in Ashtabula, Ohio.
B&B Precision Tool Company started business on September 27, 1973 with three
employees and first year sales of approximately $100,000. B&B has grown over
the past twenty-eight years, employment is now at twenty-eight and annual
sales of over $3,000,000. Over the past twenty-eight years, the company has
continued to invest in the latest state of the art technology for constructing
molds. B&B's initial equipment list consisted of a mill, a grinder, and a lathe.
Today, B&B Precision Tool Company constructs molds for the plastics industry
utilizing the latest mold construction technology and equipment, valued at
over two million dollars. The new equipment consists of; (3) LeBlond Makino
CNC Machining Centers, (1) Dynamite CNC Machining Center, (1) Shizuoka
CNC Electrode Machining Center, (1) OKK CNC Electrode Machining Center,
(2) Conventional EDM Machines, (1) Charmille CNC EDM Machine, (6) Okamoto
Surface Grinders with Digital Readouts, (2) Fanuc CNC Wire EDM Machines,
(1) EDM Hole Drill, and miscellaneous Bridgeport Mills and lathes. Quality
assurance is assisted utilizing (1) Scherr Tumico Optical Comparator, and (1)
Brown & Sharpe CMM.
B&B's customer base has grown over the past twenty-eight years from two
local companies in 1973, to its present worldwide customer base of approximately
twenty-four companies. B&B has capacity and capabilities range from construction
of single cavity prototype molds to single and multi-cavity production molds.
Molds have ranged is size from as small as six inches square, to as large as a
fabricated forty thousand pound mold.
As the name implies, B&B Precision Tool Company specializes in the construction
of high caliber, close tolerance precision thermoplastic and termoset injection molds,
thermoset compression and transfer molds, and rubber molds. Services provided by
B&B Precision Tool include input into suggested part feature moldabilities, mold
design, and complete mold construction, including any final molding surface plating
requirements.
B&B has the capability to fully design molds using the customer's 2-D part print and
part file information, or the customer's 3-D part data. B&B has the capacity and
capability to utilize the customer's 2-D and/or 3-D part data in creating surface data,
necessary programs for CNC machining, creating solid electrodes, and EDMing the
molds as required to complete the mold construction. B&B presently has Solids and
Surface Capabilities utilizing AutoCAD, Autosurf/Mechanical Desk Top, Master Cam,
and Freeform Systems for generating mold designs and required machining programs.
The (28) employees offer over 325 years of combined mold design and mold making
experience. B&B Precision Tool Company prides itself in the handling of each order
in a professional, and confidential manner.
The future plans of B&B Precision Tool consists of obtaining ISO 9001 Certification
by June 2001, continued updating of all CAD and CNC software, hardware, and
equipment, and construction of a new 24,000 sq.ft.modern facility.
